when I close my eyes
Our communal stress is palpable.
And so I close my eyes, focusing on the dancing colors and if I'm patient, gorgeous sprouting structures will emerge. I drift into the peaceful moment, it's brief, but it's there.
When I open my eyes, I draw to extend the experience, keeping open the access to a gentler place. I use images I've collected on walks and in my garden, studying the colors and patterns.
I get lost in the process.
